Leah Böttger is currently a PhD student at the University of Kentucky. Leah completed her BA in Egyptology at the Free University of Berlin, focusing on mummification techniques and processes in ancient Egypt. She then completed her Master of Science degree in Archaeological Science at the University of Tuebingen, studying morphological affinities and population history in five recent globally distributed populations using a combination of 3D phenotypic and population genetic data under a neutral evolutionary framework. Her current research interests majorly entail the emergence of human cranial variation and the underlying genomic basis creating variability in the facial skeleton.
