HEVA joins 2024 archaeological field school at Butts Hill Fort
HEVA contributed a graduate team and equipment to the 2024 archaeological field school at Butts Hill Fort, Rhode Island, led by Dr. Alexandra Uhl.
In summer 2024, HEVA contributed equipment and a graduate-student team to an archaeological field school at Butts Hill Fort in Portsmouth, Rhode Island — led by Dr. Alexandra Uhl (Stonehill College) in collaboration with the University of Kentucky. The team surveyed the Revolutionary War fortification to investigate its buried features, work later published in Heritage. (Battle of Rhode Island Association info page.)
