Laylah Gilmore is affiliated with the University of Kentucky HEVA Laboratory, where her research engages the historical archaeology of the American Revolution. She works on the ongoing Butts Hill Fort project in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and co-authored the poster βThe First Rhode Island Regiment of 1777β β examining one of the earliest racially integrated units in American military history β with Hugo Reyes-Centeno at the 2026 UK Undergraduate Research Showcase.
